As a Registered Nurse, she practiced in cardiac care, oncology, and post-operative care, before she found her home serving the terminally ill and their families in hospice.
Wanting to enrich her education and expand her influence helping families, Ms. Lamar pursued a law degree and graduated from the Nashville School of Law, fifth in her class, earning her access to the prestigious Cooper's Inn for academic achievement. Her accolades include recognition by the Tennessee Supreme Court as a Law Student for Justice for her many hours of service in pro bono legal clinics across Middle Tennessee, where she assisted in providing free legal services to those in need.
Ms. Lamar began her legal career as Staff Attorney to respected Nashville Judge Randy Kennedy in the Probate Court for Davidson County, where she found probate law to be a vehicle for the continuation of serving the elderly and their families. After the retirement of Judge Kennedy, she accepted a position with the Tennessee Center for Estate and Elder Law where she was responsible for the firm's probate cases. During her first year, Ms. Lamar was part of the team that won the firm the Ruthie Award for Favorite Law Firm.
Ms. Lamar having found great fulfillment as a practicing probate attorney, opened her own practice.
